What is an IRS Enrolled Agent (E.A.)?

 

David Garber earned the coveted IRS Enrolled Agent (E.A.) certification. IRS Enrolled Agents are the only federally licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.

 

“Enrolled” means a person has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS and received IRS certification to do so.  The IRS offers this certification to individuals who have passed three rigorous comprehensive exams covering individual, non-profit organization, and business tax returns.  Furthermore, all IRS Enrolled Agents must adhere to strict ethical standards and a minimum of 24 hours per year of mandatory continuing education courses covering taxation, representation, and ethical practices.
